Welcome to my Northern NJ drum lessons drum teacher profile.

I started drumming at the age of 3 yrs old. My father is a drummer so that’s the reason why I started at such a young age.

I taught myself up until the age of 11 when i started taking private lessons where I learned how to read sheet music, basic rudiments, snare drum technique, and different drum set styles such as Rock, Jazz, Funk, Latin, and Blues.

My teachers also taught me how to properly tune and care for the drums.

During my High School and College years I participated in various organized school bands which included Concert Band, Marching Band (Snare Drum), Honors Band, and Jazz Band (both HS and College). I also started playing out in original bands at the age of 16 and have continued to play, write, and perform in original bands to this day that cover various genre’s (Rock, Metal, Alternative, Punk Rock, Pop Punk, Pop, Progressive Rock, Funk Rock, Blues).  

I currently play drums for the progressive rock project Answer Infinity, which is my personal band, along with the session work I play on. Current session projects I’m involved in include doing work with fellow artist and long time friend Matt Colligan, the very talented guitar player/vocalist Chris Delis, who regularly used to play on Broadway shows and has been a session player for many years, and original Brooklyn rock outfit Bedlam Barrio.

I’ve been lucky enough play across both coasts of the country and been able to go on tour where I’ve been able to play such famous venues as The Whiskey A Go Go, The Gilman, Gramercy Theater, Webster Hall, and The Stone Pony to name a few.

I’ve also been lucky enough to film and perform in several music videos over the past couple of years .

All this experience is the reason I’ve come to love drumming so much and decided to make it a career through teaching, session work in the studio and live, and with my own original bands.

My teaching experience started when I was in High School and my private teacher couldn’t teach in the summer months so he let me teach his students during that time. I did that for a few summers at the music shop I took lessons at.

After college I started teaching both from my home studio and in-home drum lessons and have been doing that for the last 15+ years.

I offer lessons to all levels of drum experience, so whether someone has never played drums once or if they are a more experienced player I’ll tailor the lessons towards the students experience level and what he/she’s looking to learn.

So whether you’re interested in playing drums just as a hobby or if you’re seriously interested in making drumming a career at some point I’ll do my best in order for you to achieve your goals.

I love teaching drums and music and is why I left my corporate job to try and pursue this and help kids or adults reach their best level on the drums.

The most important thing is that the student is having fun and enjoying what they are learning.
