Taieri Drum Tuition’s Regan Horrell is a drum teacher based in Mosgiel offering drum lessons in Mosgiel and the Taieri area, and Dunedin city.

Regan is a drum teacher with 30 years’ drumming experience, having started in a school rock band at age 16.

He teaches private drum lesson from his drum studio based in Mosgiel on an ear-friendly, professional Yamaha electronic drum kit. The kit offers students the chance to be recorded to analyse their progress and the sheer enjoyment of playing on nearly 60 different drum kits! He also travels to teach students on drum kits in their own homes.

Regan loves working alongside each individual to tailor drum lessons to meet their needs and goals, and adopts a fun approach to teaching.

He has been a drummer in a range of styles from country music to playing in church to heavy metal and classic and heavy rock covers bands performing big hits from The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac to Green Day and Metallica. He also previously taught drums to a range of students in schools in Dunedin and on the Taieri.

Regan has competed with a band at the New Zealand Smokefreerockquest Otago regional finals in Dunedin. He has also performed in several covers and original bands including Dust ‘n Bones, Time Machine, The Remnant, Transformer, Th’ Leftovers and Anthem.
