Teacher's Biography:
Welcome to the Chicago drum lessons drum teacher profile.
My name is Naydja Bruton and my focus is to mentor young drummers into the musician they want to become.
I stared playing drums at 16; My journey first began as a percussionist in marching band and concert band in high school. Once graduating I started playing drum-set, joined (math/indie)rock/hiphop/jazz/folk/blues bands and collaborated with multiple artists in the midwest. This journey eventually landed me on the west coast where I provided freelance session drumming for approximately a year with local artists in the Seattle, Washington area.
Eventually I made my way back to the midwest to hone my craft and began teaching with the organization Girls Rock! Chicago. From there I found a love for mentoring through drumming and decided that my main goal is to help young drummers cultivate a style that is their own.
In my classes we focus on building character through rhythm and the theory of musical interpretation. To ensure versatility and instill confidence, I use a multitude of strategies such as reading drum notation, learning songs by ear, building rhythmic vocabulary, and covering a variety of drumming styles.
Rhythm Ninja Drum Academy is a place for all drummers who have the urge to rock out!

- As a member of the Total Drummer drum teaching program I have access to huge libraries of teaching material such as the main syllabus, famous song charts, drumless playalong tracks and everything else needed to deliver the best drum lessons possible.
