Teacher's Biography:
Hello everyone. I’m Erik Sliter, and I’m a drummer & drum teacher based out of Arlington, Texas. I started playing drums at the age of 8, and have been drumming in church since I was 14 years old. I’ve had the privilege of playing drums in church and other ministries both in the US and internationally.
I enjoy playing most styles from rock, metal, pop, alternative, hip hop, and Christian music. Some drummers I look up to that have influenced my playing style include Matt Greiner (August Burns Red), Aaron Gillespie (Underoath), and Josh Dun (Twenty One Pilots) just to name a few.
Apart from church worship drumming, I am also a part of the Christian metalcore scene. I’m a drummer of a metalcore band called Colossae. We’ve had the privilege of sharing the stage with several other bands in the Christian rock & metal scene. Bands such as Bloodlines, Meadows, and Gratitude tx to name a few. I’ve also performed live in other various genres, including jazz ensemble, indie pop/rock, and acoustic reggae.
I love teaching drums and sharing my passion. I teach most styles, from beginner to advanced. The lessons I teach will include:
- Full drum set grooves
- Practicing songs
- Rudiments
- Snare drum patterns
- Sight reading
- Playing with a metronome
- and more.
I am available for lessons either in my studio or I can travel to you if are in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area.
