Total Drummer exists to be the total resource for online drum lessons. Here we cover all topics from learning drum beats, drum fills, drum styles, drum theory, drum sight reading, recording studio techniques, professional skills, marketing yourself as a drummer and loads more. The different areas of Total Drummer online drum lessons are:

Main Courses
These are the main feature of Total Drummer. These are a carefully tried and tested syllabuses that take you on a step by step learning path much the same as if you had 1-2-1 lessons with a local teacher. In fact they were created and tested in that exact capacity. They start from total beginner and work you up right through to being a professional drummer. Because they are easy logical steps they are guaranteed to get great results.

They take the guess work out so you’re not wondering which thing to learn next. They are adaptable so they can keep you engaged no matter how fast you learn. They cover all essential aspects of drumming through reading, theory, technique, timing, playing with music, working out famous song drum parts, playing in a recording studio and much more. The only real difference between these and private lessons with a local teacher is that you can take the Total Drummer lessons at a time to suit you (as well as re-watching them to get a full understanding), they include tons more content than if you had a single lesson each week and they are way, way cheaper. So you get more content for less money at a time to suit you.

Mini Courses
These mini drum lesson courses exist to help you catch up on a specific area. You might have enough experience to want to skip Total Drummer year 1 but don’t have the sight reading skills to jump into year 2. All you need is a quick sight reading crash course and you’re good to go on the year 2 main drum course.

Or you might just want to learn how to get a job as a drummer on a cruise ship, or take a Reggae drumming crash course, or lean how to market yourself as a professional musician. These courses are there to help with that.

Single Lessons
The single drum lessons are quick to consume and learn lessons which focus on a single aspect of drumming. Whether it’s learning a cool jazz beat, gospel fill, Latin rhythm or anything else, check out the single lessons to learn it within ten minutes.

Playalongs
It is pointless being a bedroom drummer. Drums are not (with a few exceptions) a solo instrument. They work best when part of an ensemble or band. And the only way to develop your musicality, listening and timing is to play with other musicians. But unless you are part of the Jackson family then you might not have a house full of musicians so the next best thing is jamming to specially created drum play along tracks. These drumless tunes give you experience in a range of styles and tempos so you are ready to play whatever is thrown at you.

Drum Charts
The drum charts are fully notated transcriptions of some of the most popular famous songs in the history of music. Ranging from classic rock like Led Zeppelin and Free, up to modern bands such as Green Day and Paramore, as well as Frank Sinatra, Muse, AC/DC and loads more. Find a song you love and download the full drum notation.

BUT, most importantly he has being able to enjoy passing his greatest passion on to thousands of students over more than 15 years teaching in situations from small groups to 1-2-1 lessons. It is through this time that he developed the syllabus for Total Drummer. He has been able to test the material and techniques with students of all ages and abilities. He could then refine it, evolve it and update it until it was optimised to help every student reach their full potential. Total Drummer is the result of this.
