Welcome to my Manurewa drum lessons drum teacher profile.
Hey, Zephaniah here! I was introduced to drumming at the age of 6, and really started putting in the effort once I left High-school. This lead to teaching drums at an after school programme during my tertiary studies.
I’ve been playing for church for several years, and it was there I met the great musicians that I am now in a band with.
We have performed in many venues around Auckland, including opening for The Nelson Mandala Exhibition, when it came to Auckland.
I also love drumming with a funk/pop band, playing at numerous events such as fundraisers, birthdays and weddings.
I am inspired greatly by drummers such as Calvin Rodgers, Larnell Lewis, Devon Taylor and Sean Wright (to name a few), in their ability to play chops for days (drum fills), yet having the discipline to serve the song playing in the pocket, adding their tasty chops in just the right moments.
I love seeing the growth and passion in students and want to help jump start drummers on their own personal goals, while I work towards mine!
